The Door to Change

It has been brutal being out in all this wind, so naturally I am looking for an escape.
The door to change is not the name of this door.
I will name the door after I have thought about what to embroider on it.

I used to live at the Piano Factory in Boston near Tremont and Mass Ave.
It was a community of artist.
In the artist spirit they encouraged you to paint your own door.
I had never thought about using my door for an canvas before, have you?

What would your door be like?  What would it say about you or how you feel about living where you do?

What colors would you use?  Would it be loud or soft?
Would you go outside the line and extend your painting to the walls?
Would it be exciting or tranquil?

What would your door look like if you were thinking about living in a desert with no water, or electricity?...except for what you brought in or made.
These are the thoughts that I am having as I work on my wall hanging, Dug Out.

Awesome doors in the artist's loft. Wow!!! What a question to ponder as well.
I look forward to seeing what your door becomes.

I've always wanted my house to be cobalt blue with copper shutters--and a leopard print painted front door :}

I would love to live in an artist community and painting the door would be so much fun. Mine would have bright, vibrant colors...happy!
Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for sharing the doors. I will take time now to think about how I would paint my door - there are SO many possiblities. I do know there would be COLOR - my favorite thing!

This is a lot of fun. I am really enjoying thinking about the 'door' for the Dug Out. I love color as well and my door is going to have a lot of color in it.

Arlee I can see your door and house vividly. I can also see your neighbors. It reminds me of when my mom and dad bought a new house. It was mustard color. The door was dark brown but the contractor said that he would paint it for them any color they wanted...they just had to go pick out the paint. Well they went to the hardware store and picked out a really nice dark cranberry. This was in the early 70's. When the contractor opened the paint and started painting...I think my mother nearly had a heartattack, certainly she got a headache afterward. The door was not cranberry but a bright salmon pink. We lived with it that way for a couple of years.

Mother was always saying to me..."What will the neighbors think" when it came to anything that she thought I was doing that was not conventional. So I wondered what did the neighbors think? They had to look at that door more than we did.
