The Kids

My husband just edited and put up this video of
Winston our son's homemade Tesla coil.
His hair was really long in this video.
He got it cut last month and donated his hair to Locks Of Love.

Here is Catherine and Isaac playing with a 1980's Tomy robot.
They have had a lot of fun trying to get it to do voice recognition.
Every time you turn it off it loses its memory.
The good old days. huh?

On the front of the table is an electric remote control boat that Isaac built.
He made it from an old electric car that he had.
He used the wheels shaft for the boats rudders so that it could be steered.

A wholly creative family. That's wonderful and amazing. Loved the sparks on the top of the tesla coil.

The sound is actually coming out of the Tesla coil. The Tesla coil is the speaker.

Thank you!!

Genius' your kids are!
I had no idea what I was watching and then my DH came home while I was watching and wondering and he told me what it was and how it worked. Amazing! Such talent.
Sweet of your son to donate his hair too.
And I had to laugh at the robot with dementia!

Well, I wish I could send you a video of my husband watching your son with his tesla coil! Lloyd loved every minute of this video. He did the same thing when he was young (and would do the same now, truth be told, if he had the time). He had a little workshop behind his home growing up where he made his own tesla coils, wimshurst static machines, and vandegraaff generators. xo Kari

Oooops! We got so mesmerized by the video, we forgot to scroll down to see what Catherine and Isaac were doing! Love the robot and the boat, too. What great kids you have, and what a wonderful life of science and discovery you are giving them! xo Kari
